After hosting a health care talk last week, a venue in which she was protected from constituents who may question her true commitment to health care reform, Representative Mary Bono Mack explained to the Desert Sun her outright refusal to hold a single public event this summer on health insurance reform.
"I'm not trying to sell it," Bono Mack said.
"A quick glance through any available dictionary makes it clear that Representative Mary Bono Mack has a few things to lean about being an elected representative," said Andy Stone, Western Regional Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "After all, being a representative is about more than just trying to ‘sell it' - it's about listening to the people you're elected to represent, especially when those people are clamoring for health insurance reform that will end denial of coverage due to preexisting conditions and bring down the growing cost of health care. Why does Representative Mary Bono Mack refuse to listen to those voices?"
