Van Hollen Congratulates Cedric Richmond (LA -02)
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement, on state Representative Cedric Richmond’s nomination as the Democratic candidate in Louisiana’s 2nd district. Richmond was named to DCCC’s highly successful Red to Blue program several weeks ago.
“Congratulations to Representative Richmond on his victory today. Representative Richmond has a proven record of fighting for New Orleans and Jefferson Parish families. The families of this district deserve a representative that will work to create jobs and stand with President Obama on critical issues like health insurance reform and economic recovery. We are confident that he will be elected in November because voters in this district want someone who will stand up and fight for our President’s agenda.”
The CBC PAC also supported Cedric Richmond’s campaign in the primary.
