Independent Expenditure Political Assistant

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) serves as the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with recruiting, assisting, funding, and electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. We provide services ranging from designing and helping execute field operations, to polling, creating radio and television commercials, fundraising, communications, and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and other groups from throughout the country.

Position Summary:

The DCCC will be hiring two Independent Expenditure Program (IEP) Political Assistants. These individuals will be part of the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure Program, which operates independently of each congressional race and of the DCCC’s campaign operation. IEP Political Assistants will work with assigned consulting teams and will report directly to their IEP Political Desks. Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the implementation of the campaign plan;
  • Point of contact for vendors and on-the-ground field programs in races where applicable;
  • Tracking the progress of the research, political, and legal checklist sign-off on all work product;
  • Updating political database and internal tracking elements;
  • Providing news clips for relevant regional races;
  • Assisting in procurement of Voter Files;
  • Performing additional administrative support as needed by program.

Qualifications Include:

  • Campaign experience preferred;
  • Experience with polling data, media campaigns and/or direct mail;
  • Experience with congressional-level field operations;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Operates well under pressure;
  • Extremely organized;
  • Pays close attention to detail; and
  • Willingness to work long hours, including weekends.
