The White House just announced that it is creating what can only be described as a mass deportation force. In the face of heartbreaking stories of families being torn apart and innocent DREAMers facing deportation since President Trump was sworn into office, House Republicans’ silence and complicity is inexcusable.
Let’s remember that some House Republicans – especially those that represent a large number of Hispanic voters – promised their constituents that they would stand up to Trump’s anti-immigrant and anti-Latino agenda. Apparently that was just rhetoric.
“Our immigrant and Latino communities are under attack by President Trump’s mass deportation force, yet House Republicans are doing absolutely nothing to protect nuestra comunidad,” said DCCC Hispanic Media Director Javier Gamboa. “If they don’t have our backs now, when will they?”
