Todd Long supported a plan to end Medicare as we know it. Under Long’s plan, Medicare would be dismantled and replaced with a voucher program that will force seniors to pay thousands more out of pocket, while giving millionaires $265,000 in tax cuts and giving big corporations a ten percent tax cut.
Long Said Ryan was Taking Budget in a “Good Direction” and That He Would “Fight Passionately” for His Solutions. In 2012, Long said, “I do support Paul Ryan trying to take the budget in a good direction, and he’s one guy . He’s putting forth a specific plan amongst all these people who aren’t. Budget Would Give Tax Cuts to Millionaires. According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the Ryan budget would reduce the taxes of those making over $1 million dollars by $264,970. [Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, 4/12/12]
Budget Would Reduce Corporate Tax Rate. According the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the Ryan budget “would cut the corporate income tax rate from 35 percent to 25 percent and eliminate taxes on the foreign profits of U.S.-based multinationals.” [Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, 3/22/12]
