Republicans Remain on Vacation While Homeland Security Shutdown Creeps Closer

With only 10 days left before the Department of Homeland Security is set to shut down because the Republican Congress can’t get its act together, the DCCC will spend this week reminding voters in targeted Republican districts across the country exactly who is responsible for creating this artificial crisis.

“Every day that Republicans are on vacation is another day closer to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutting down, and voters are going to have no doubt that it is the Republican Congress that is responsible for this pointless political brinkmanship,” said Matt Thornton of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will take every opportunity during this recess to let voters know that it is their Republican representatives who are more concerned with their political security than our national security.”
