Speaker John Boehner told his Republican Congress today that they are finalizing a plan to sue President Obama over his executive actions on immigration. Republicans in Congress are also holding up reauthorization of the Homeland Security budget unless they can overturn the Obama order which would restart deportation of Dream Act eligible kids.
“House Republicans have two ideas on immigration – hold homeland security funding hostage until they can restart deporting DREAMers and sue the president,” said Josh Schwerin of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Instead of passing a bipartisan immigration reform, they continue to cater to their rabid base and turn the United States Congress into a political circus.”
