Romney Out, Cresent Hardy Left to Carry on the 47% Legacy

Today, Congressman Cresent Hardy’s favorite failed presidential candidate Mitt Romney announced his intentions to forgo a third campaign.  Some would argue that Romney’s explosive comments that 47-percent of Americans who paid no income taxes are dependent on government welfare cost him the 2012 election, but Hardy enthusiastically embraced that sentiment.

“Congressman Cresent Hardy is surely mourning the end of Mitt Romney’s political career, leaving him the leading Republican voice publicly defending that position,” said Tyrone Gayle of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “With Mitt Romney out, Congressman Cresent Hardy is now left to carry on the legacy of ‘47%’ and champion the same failed Republican policies that stack the deck in favor of the special interests and the wealthy by shifting the burden onto the middle class.”

Background

Hardy Validated Romney’s “47 Percent” Comments, Stating that it was True and Even “Bigger Now.” “‘Can I say that without getting in trouble like Gov. Romney,’ Cresent Hardy, a state assemblyman, said in a video posted online by the Nevada State Democratic Party. ‘The 47 percent is true.  It’s bigger now.'” [Huffington Post, 9/24/14]
