Speaker Ryan, Chairman Stivers, and the vast majority of Washington Republicans voted for, endorsed, and continue to support President Trump. While it often goes under the radar, the NRCC has eagerly adopted Trump’s own divisive tactics, using attacks on the “radical left”, “biased media”, and “fake news” to divide the American people.
Speaker Ryan and Steve Stivers voicing their disappointment over Twitter does nothing to change their longstanding complicity in Trump’s behavior. Simply put, they have lost all ability to speak with moral clarity.
“Speaker Ryan, Chairman Stivers, and nearly every single House Republican voted for and continue to support President Trump,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law. “In communications with millions, the NRCC continues to use Trump’s dangerous language attacking the ‘radical left’ and ‘fake news’ in order to divide the American people. Their lack of moral clarity helped set the stage for the disgusting display that we witnessed at Trump’s unhinged press conference, and House Republicans must be held accountable along with the President.”
Despite Chairman Stiver’s saying, “I don’t understand what’s so hard about this”, the NRCC regularly employs Trump’s “both sides” rhetoric…
