In a district that President Obama nearly won located in the incredibly expensive Los Angeles media market, Republican Steve Knight brought in a whopping $28,000 in the first quarter. Oh, and he owes over $50,000. This comes after the less-than-stellar $415,000 raised over the entire 2014 cycle.
“Knight is not only completely out-of-step with his district, he is completely out of money,” said DCCC Communications Director Matt Thornton. “His pathetic fundraising quarter makes you wonder if Knight is ready for or even interested in reelection.”
California’s 25th District covers parts of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Almost half of the voting age population in CA25 is non-white and in 2014 Democratic voter registration surpassed Republican registration.
