While other Republicans were at least feigning disappointment with Trump, Blum became one of his most public fans
While the election may be over, it should not be forgotten that Rod Blum enthusiastically doubled down on his support for Donald Trump while also cozying up to Speaker Paul Ryan in the final weeks of the campaign. This might have temporarily helped him win reelection, but it will certainly damage his standing in the future as he is forced to defend the destructive Trump-Ryan agenda.
“This election was certainly revealing in so far as we now know that Congressman Rod Blum is not bothered by someone who is a rampant liar, racially divisive, and an alleged serial sexual predator,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law. “But the real test of Blum’s shamelessness will come when he defends a Trump-Ryan economic agenda that could end up hurting the majority of hardworking Iowans that voted to reelect him.”
