Even after a brutal Miami Herald article exposing Republican Carlos Curbelo’s pro-immigration leadership PAC as a sham vehicle to donate to candidates who oppose immigration reform, Congressman Curbelo’s latest filings show he is continuing the same practice. Curbelo’ s leadership PAC “What A Country” continues to donate to anti-immigrant House Republicans like Barbara Comstock and Erik Paulsen. Even local groups are calling out Curbelo over his hypocrisy.
“Even after criticism from several pro-immigration groups, Carlos Curbelo’s sham PAC is still currying favor with Trump-like Republicans who are clearly anti-immigrant and oppose comprehensive immigration reform,” said Jermaine House of the DCCC. “Since Congressman Curbelo is unwilling to stand up for one of the region’s most important priorities, new leadership is needed in South Florida.”
