House Republicans Need To Stand Up To Attacks On Governors Leading COVID-19 Response

In midst of a global pandemic President Trump tweets that state leaders requesting aid are complainers and “never satisfied”

As the COVID-19 death toll surpasses 4,600 Americans, President Trump continues to attack governors leading the nation’s response and recovery. In a tweet this morning, Trump says the statewide leaders “have insatiable appetites & are never satisfied…” and “The complainers should… have been stocked up and ready long before the crisis hit.”

As governors continue to beg for federal help obtaining life-saving ventilators and personal protective equipment for doctors and nurses, House Republicans need to stand up for the leaders on the frontlines of fighting this virus in their states.

Statement From DCCC Spokesperson Fabiola Rodriguez

“Washington Republicans can’t just sit back and watch President Trump bully governors for doing their jobs in the absence of leadership from the White House. It’s time for House Republicans to put partisanship aside and stand up for their state leaders and the millions of Americans battling this crisis.”
