Missouri’s 2nd (MO - 02)
Updated: October 22, 2020
Ann Wagner has spent her career helping big corporations and special interests. In Congress she has fit right in as just another Washington politician helping her corporate donors – not the people she represents.
Voters and voters on the go need to see, and voters need to see from campaign finance reform supporters that:
- Wagner’s net worth has increased by millions during her time in Congress and she has voted to raise her own pay and to let herself lease private jets and fly first class at taxpayer’s expense. She’s also taken millions of dollars from special interests, more than almost anyone else in Congress, which is why the Post-Dispatch said she “stinks of swamp politics”. (BACK UP)
Voters and voters on the go need to see from allies that:
- Wagner took $1.3 million from big Pharma and the insurance industry and voted 5 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would allow insurance companies to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, and she opposed lowering the costs of prescription drugs. She even voted twice during the pandemic against protections for pre-existing conditions and against lowering the cost of prescription drugs. Under Wagner’s plan, 230,000 Missourians would lose their health coverage, and coronavirus patients could be at risk of having their coverage denied. (BACK UP)
