Brandon Williams is pushing an extreme MAGA agenda including banning abortion in New York and huge cuts to Social Security.

A public-school teacher for more than 25 years, father and State Senator, John Mannion has been a champion for Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.  In the State Senate, John secured more funding for our schools, passed middle class tax cuts, and helped bring Micron and 50,000 good jobs to the area. In Congress, John will work to bring down costs … so all our families can afford to live here.

Summary

The final week before the November 5 election, voters, including independent voters and voters who don’t live in state Senate district 50, need to continue seeing ads on broadcast, cable, and digital – including streaming – about both Brandon Williams’ extremism on choice and his record on Social Security and Medicare:

  • Brandon Williams supported overturning Roe v. Wade, and letting politicians ban abortion in cases of rape, incest, or when a woman’s life is at risk. Brandon Williams voted to restrict abortion medication and punish doctors. Brandon Williams even supports stripping abortion coverage from New Yorkers’ private insurance plans.
  • Brandon Williams supports the extreme MAGA budget that cuts almost $3 trillion from Medicare and Social Security to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

Voters who care about unions, especially voters who don’t live in state senate district 50 and voters under 50 years old, should continue seeing ads on digital and streaming platforms that:

  • A public-school teacher for more than 25 years, father and State Senator, John Mannion has been a champion for Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.  In the State Senate, John secured more funding for our schools, passed middle class tax cuts, and helped bring Micron and 50,000 good jobs to the area. In Congress, John will work to bring down costs … so all our families can afford to live here.
  • Brandon Williams supports the extreme MAGA budget that cuts almost $3 trillion from Medicare and Social Security to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

Voters should continue seeing get out the vote ads on digital and streaming services through the November 5 election. In addition, voters in particular Democrats, Black voters in Syracuse, and voters under 45 years old, need to also see get out the vote digital ads (including on streaming services and on YouTube) that contrast Williams’ extreme record on choice with Mannion’s work to protect reproductive rights:

  • Brandon Williams is a MAGA extremist trying to outlaw abortion in New York. He supports letting politicians ban abortion with no exceptions for rape, incest or to save a woman’s life. And he could be the deciding vote for a national abortion ban.
  • John Mannion helped pass some of the strongest abortion protections in the nation and he will do the same in Congress.

Voters district-wide need to see ads on digital and streaming platforms:

  • John Mannion will work with anyone to keep our communities safe. In the State Senate, John secured more funding for our police. In Congress, John will crack down on fentanyl trafficking and secure our border.

  • New York battleground voters in NY-22 who need to turn out and vote need to IMMEDIATELY see ads at high frequencies on streaming and digital platforms, including YouTube and Meta.
  • It is important to describe the region that makes up NY-22 as “Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.”
  • It is essential for voters to always see digital ads about how Williams supported overturning Roe v. Wade, and letting politicians ban abortion in cases of rape, incest, or when a woman’s life is at risk.
  • State Senate District 50 consists of the following ZIP codes: 13214, 13057, 13090, 13104, 13030, 13041, 13037, 13206, 13082, 13088, 13031, 13066, 13164, 13224, 13029, 13027, 13209, 13078, 13039, 13211, 13116, 13208, 13219, 13212

Voters districtwide need to hear the following at their doors, on the phones, and on campaign literature about John Mannion:

  • As a public school science teacher for almost thirty years, John is committed to providing a world-class education for our kids. In Congress, he will advocate for more education funding and universal, free pre-K, which is why he’s endorsed by New York’s teachers’ unions.
  • In addition to his experience in the classroom, John Mannion was President of the West Genesee Teachers’ Association and is a staunch supporter of Labor in general. He is proudly endorsed by over 30 Unions. In Congress, John will work tirelessly to support higher wages, better working conditions, and dignity in work for all workers.
  • As a State Senator, John led the fight to pass the Green Chips law to attract environmentally sustainable businesses. This attracted Micron to our area, which just committed to creating 50,000 new, good-paying jobs in Central New York. In Congress, he will be a tireless advocate for bringing good jobs to Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.
  • In the State Senate, John helped New York pass some of the nation’s strongest abortion protections, earning him a 100 percent rating from Planned Parenthood. In Congress, John will fight against attempts to pass a national abortion ban or any legislation that seeks to restrict reproductive rights.
  • In addition to important local issues, this election is about flipping the House of Representatives in November. John has a proven track record of campaign success, flipping his home State Senate district from Republican to Democrat for the first time in 50 years and winning reelection ever since. John Mannion’s experience winning tough races makes him the best bet to beat Republican Congressman Brandon Williams this November.
  • As chairman of the NY State Senate Disabilities Committee, John has been a champion for people with disabilities, leading the charge for a law that requires new training for CPS caseworkers, teachers, police, and others on identifying abuse and neglect of disabled children. In Congress, John will support action to lower healthcare costs, expand high-quality coverage to the uninsured, and ensure that NYers can access the healthcare they need.

It is especially important for voters in the following assembly districts in NY-22 to hear messages at their doors, on the phones, and in literature:

  • Assembly District 119
  • Assembly District 129, especially the North Side (zips 13202, 13203, 13206, 13208, 1321)
  • Assembly District 131
