IL-11 GOP Field Must Let Illinois Voters Know if They Agree with Jerry Evans and Mark Carroll in Supporting Extreme Nationwide Ban on Abortions

The Illinois 11th Congressional District Republican field is far out-of-step with vast majority of Illinoisans who support women’s freedom to make their own health care decisions

In a damaging Daily Herald candidate forum, IL-11 Republican candidates Jerry Evans and Mark Carroll confirmed their support for a nationwide ban on abortions.

As Republicans plot charging women with homicide, imposing a 6-week national ban on abortion if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, and throwing women and doctors in jail – Catalina Lauf, Cassandra Tanner-Miller, and Andrea Heeg must let Illinois voters know whether they agree with their IL-11 Republican competitors that there should be a nationwide abortion ban.

Here’s one reason why Lauf, Tanner-Miller, and Heeg are refusing to own up to their extreme positions: polling shows two thirds of Illinoisans support abortion being legal in most or all cases.

“As women’s reproductive rights are threatened by extremist Republicans across the country, Catalina Lauf, Cassandra Tanner-Miller, and Andrea Heeg must come clean to Illinoisans on if they stand with their IL-11 Republican competitors to support a nationwide ban on abortion,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn.
