NJ-03: Bob Healey Shares Blame for the Overturning of Roe v. Wade

In the wake of the recent Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, it’s important voters know just how extreme NJ-03 GOP candidate Bob Healey is. He has made his crusade against women’s freedoms clear multiple times in the past year alone.

• Last month, Healey affirmed his support for overturning Roe v. Wade and making the right to an abortion into a state-by-state issue, standing by as dozens of U.S. states are primed to end access to abortion.

• Healey said it was “unfortunate” that New Jersey lawmakers had protected abortion rights and even said he would use the bully pulpit of a congressional seat to advocate against those rights for New Jersey women.

Make no mistake: Healey and the Republican Party are on the wrong side of this issue. Polling conducted after the leak of the SCOTUS draft opinion overturning Roe shows: by a two-to-one margin, people oppose Roe being overturned; 80% of people believe abortion should be decided between a woman and her doctor; and nearly two-thirds of people oppose the GOP’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.

Healey will be held accountable for his party’s role in recent decision and his party’s plan to institute a nationwide abortion ban.
