With 2 days since the USA Today broke the story about the first DACA protected DREAMer to be deported, Republican Representative Will Hurd has yet to fight back against this grave moral failure. This week, Attorney General Sessions said that he couldn’t “promise” that DREAMers would not be targeted.
“This week we found out that no one is safe from President Trump’s cruel mass deportation force, and despite the countless stories of families being torn apart, Representative Will Hurd has shown complicity with his silence,” said Javier Gamboa of the DCCC. “How many more deported DREAMers will it take for Hurd to finally stand up to Trump’s abhorrent actions with more than empty rhetoric?”
Because of DACA, over 728,000 hardworking and law abiding DREAMers have been able to continue contributing to the only country they’ve known as home.
