Yesterday, Don Bacon’s Republican Study Committee held a press conference to introduce its extreme MAGA budget that would ban abortion and end IVF access, raise costs for Nebraskans by ending the ability of Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices and removing the $35 a month insulin cap for seniors, and raise the retirement age for Social Security and Medicare.
Bacon’s budget calls for passing the Life At Conception Act, a total national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life that would also essentially end IVF access. After co-sponsoring the billthreetimes, it’s no wonder Bacon is trying to get it over the finish line.
Additionally, the proposal would cut Social Security, privatize Medicare, leave thousands of Nebraskans without quality health care coverage, and give a massive handout to billionaires and big corporations. His budget extends his party’s tax scam that helps the ultra-rich over small businesses and the middle-class and ballooned the deficit.
