DCCC Chairman Luján Statement on Florida 26th Congressional District Primary Results
DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján released the following statement on Florida’s 26th Congressional District:
“Carlos Curbelo has proven totally unwilling to stand up to his Republican colleagues to protect South Florida’s priorities. Time and again, Curbelo has fallen in line with Republican inaction on comprehensive immigration reform, the Zika virus emergency, college affordability and more. Voters won’t forget Congressman Curbelo’s failed leadership and inability to put the people of Florida’s 26th Congressional District over the Republican Party and his standard bearer, Donald Trump.
“I congratulate Joe Garcia on his hard-fought win. In a district where Hillary Clinton is beating Trump by double digits, there is little doubt that the Trump-Curbelo ticket will be rejected by South Florida voters this fall.”
