DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján released the following statement on the start of gay marriage arguments at the Supreme Court:
“As the Supreme Court begins to consider the landmark cases that could legalize marriage for everyone across the country, it is crystal clear that Republicans who continue to oppose this basic right are on the wrong side of history. House Republicans would rather keep a tight grip on the past than embrace a position held by the majority of Americans, including nearly 75 percent of young voters.
“Republicans who remain beholden to their Tea Party base and refuse to embrace equality for everyone will not only be on the wrong side of history, they will be on the wrong side of the election in November.”
