DCCC Launches “Women’s Priorities Scorecard,” Highlighting Worst Offenders on Women’s Issues

With the Republican War on Women showing no signs of letting up, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching a “Women’s Priorities Scorecard” to track the worst of the worst Republican offenders on women’s records.

The scorecard – found at GOPFailsWomenScorecard.com– showcases some of Republicans’ most egregious positions, from invasive transvaginal ultrasounds, to overturning Roe vs. Wade, to opposing equal pay for equal work – the issues that put Republicans far outside the mainstream of American women. Leading the list of offenders is Virginia’s Barbara Comstock, who voted to require medically unnecessary transvaginal ultrasounds, wants to overturn Roe vs. Wade and supports limiting common forms of birth control.

Even as these Republicans are holding women back, House Democrats are doubling down on their commitment to the women’s economic agenda: equal pay for equal work, affordable and accessible child care, and paid family leave – because when women succeed, America succeeds.

“Our health care choices, equal pay for equal work and even protections for domestic violence victims are under constant threat from House Republicans and candidates, but some candidates like Barbara Comstock have records that are even worse than their colleagues,” said Emily Bolton of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “While House Republicans and candidates continue their unrelenting mission to undermine women’s economic security, they’re forgetting one very important fact: women will play a deciding role in this election – and Republicans will be forced to defend their anti-woman agenda in November.”
