DCCC Releases New Ad – ‘Sweet’– Highlighting How Congressman Lee Terry Put His Own Paycheck Ahead of Nebraskans

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching its first television ad in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, highlighting how after 16 years in Washington, D.C., Congressman Lee Terry voted to shut down the government and took his government salary during the shutdown to pay for his “nice house.” The ad starts running today.

It’s his sweet 16.

Lee Terry has been in Congress for 16 years now.

And he’s kind of forgotten why he was sent there.

Lee Terry voted to shut down the government.

That delayed the opening of a new veteran’s hospital in Omaha.

But when asked if he’d take his government salary during the shutdown, Terry replied, “Dang straight … I’ve got a nice house and a kid in college.”

Lee Terry. Isn’t 16 years long enough?
