ICYMI: Andrew Heaney Calls Misogynist Donald Trump “Favorite Son”

Who will hug Donald Trump tighter: John Faso or Andrew Heaney?

As Donald Trump locks down the Republican presidential nomination, NY-19 Republican congressional candidate Andrew Heaney is already warmly embracing misogynist Donald Trump as a “favorite son.”

This is the same Donald Trump who advocated that women who undergo an abortion should be “punished.” Here are just some of the other thoughts (of many) from Trump towards women:

  • Trump: “26,000 unreported sexual assults in the military-only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?” [May 2013, Twitter]
  • Trump told a female contestant on Celebrity Apprentice: “Must be a pretty picture, you dropping to your knees.”
  • When Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly pressed him about his history of misogynist statements, Trump responded that she must have “blood coming out of her wherever.”

It’s no surprise that Trump’s favorability is plunging among women (even Republican women):

  • A recent Gallup poll showed that Trump’s popularity is plunging to all-time lows, with 7 out of 10 women holding unfavorable views of him.
  • According to a Pew poll, only 38% of Republican women support Trump.

“Donald Trump’s popularity is plunging on all fronts due to his offensive rhetoric of putting down women and his dangerous views that make our country less safe, and Andrew Heaney thinks he should be president,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “As the Republican primary continues in New York’s 19th congressional district, it will be entertaining to watch Andrew Heaney and John Faso compete for who hugs Donald Trump and his misogynistic views tighter.”
