When the Supreme Court ruled in the Dobbs decision, John Lee got the answer to his prayers. Even before the ruling, Lee called on the Supreme Court to overturn Roe, saying Dobbs was “a case I pray will overturn Roe v. Wade and deliver a historic victory for our nation, the unborn and the global pro-life movement.”
Lee aggressively sought to ban abortion rights in Nevada, and is a self-proclaimed “1950s guy” who wants to roll the clock back and strip women of their right to control their own bodies. When running for governor, he vowed to be “the most pro-life governor in the history of Nevada” and supported an abortion ban before most women even know that they’re pregnant. He also promised to shut down Planned Parenthood in Nevada.
In Congress, Lee could join his fellow far-right MAGA Republicans who are pushing a national abortion ban.
Meanwhile, Steven Horsford is fighting to defend reproductive health care and rights. Horsford voted for the Women’s Health Protection Act which would protect abortion rights nationwide.
