Kihuen Leads Hardy in New Poll

A poll from GBA Strategies released today shows a net five-point shift towards Democratic State Senator Ruben Kihuen over the last three weeks in his race to unseat one-term incumbent Republican Cresent Hardy.

Despite weeks of Republican attack ads, Kihuen leads by two points in both head-to-head (45 to 43 percent) and four-way matchups (40 to 38 percent).

Ads targeting Hardy, on the other hand, have proven effective and he is suffering greater losses in favorability. Most damningly, voters believe Hardy ‘shares Donald Trump’s policy goals’ by a 20-point margin and think he is ‘too close to national Republicans’ by a 15-point margin.

“Washington Republicans have already spent millions trying to save Cresent Hardy and it’s not working,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “Cresent Hardy’s ‘100%’ support for Donald Trump caused irreparable damage that no amount of money can repair.”

The poll also found a favorable dynamic for Democrats at the top of the ticket: Clinton leads Trump by seven points in the Presidential race and Catherine Cortez Masto leads Joe Heck by six points in the Senate race.
