The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today released a new television ad – “Dignity” – in Texas’ 23rd Congressional District.
The spot features a testimonial from two Texas seniors highlighting how Will Hurd’s dangerous budget plan would jeopardize Social Security and Medicare in order to give tax breaks to the wealthy. The ad begins running today.
SCRIPT OF DCCC IE AD “DIGNITY”:
Jim: Social Security is so important. This is something that you earn, and you have a right to it.
VO: But Will Hurd would give tax breaks to the wealthy…and cut Social Security and Medicare.
Jim: Half the people in our church depend on Social Security for everyday living.
VO: And if Will Hurd takes their benefits away from them they’ll be left with nothing.
Jim: You talk about cutting Social Security, my God, how can you do that?
