One-Term Wonder Rod Blum: Pretend Kingmaker for the Offensive and Out-of-Touch

Congressman Blum demonstrates flawed priorities by campaigning with Ben Carson

Today, One-Term Wonder Congressman Blum will be introducing Iowans to the most embarrassing version of his favorite game: “Kingmaker: Ben Carson edition!” As if campaigning with Ted Cruz didn’t cement his fringe status enough, Blum is buddying up with Ben Carson, arguably the most offensive and out-of-touch Republican presidential candidate to get in the race thus far.

“Since coming to Washington, Congressman Blum has taken his lead from Steve King and other Tea Party extremists, and he has spent more time hobnobbing with fringe candidates like Ben Carson than solving problems for his constituents,” said DCCC Communications Director Matt Thornton. “It’s no wonder that even the Republican Party is accepting what Iowans already know: that Rod Blum will be a One-Term Wonder.

Despite Iowans demands that lawmakers work together, Blum continues to project a clear message that playing Kingmaker is a whole lot more fun than building consensus and solving problems. Unsurprisingly, he recently earned the dubious distinction of #1 most vulnerable Republican in Congress.
