DCCC spokeswoman Rachel Irwin released the following statement ahead of Rep. Mike Bost’s telephone town hall this evening, calling out his hypocrisy for his previous comments blasting his opponent for holding tele-phone town halls in 2014:
“Rep. Mike Bost should heed his own advice and stop hiding behind a phone and reading scripted lines while taxpayers foot the bill,” said DCCC spokeswoman Rachel Irwin. “His constituents are asking for the same in-person forums that Mike Bost called for in 2014. The only thing that has changed is that Bost doesn’t want face his record of voting to reduce healthcare coverage and raise premiums for Illinois families. Voters will remember Rep. Bost’s hypocrisy at a time when so many are frustrated by the lack of leadership in Congress.”
