VP Pick Considered Even More Extreme Than Trump
Today on KFBK, Scott Jones said Donald Trump’s Vice Presidential pick Indiana Governor Mike Pence is “middle of the road.” In fact, Pence is considered even more extreme than Trump, especially on reproductive rights and LGBT rights.
Pence is well known for backing Indiana’s divisive and discriminatory “Religious Freedom” law last year, but his anti-LGBT record stretches back long before that. For example, Pence has spent years advocating for conversion therapy, which the American Psychological Association and the American Medical Association have both rejected.
Pence is also a crusader against pro-choice policies and said, “I long for the day that Roe v. Wade is sent to the ash heap of history.” He was also not only a supporter, but a leader in the movement to defund Planned Parenthood.
“If Scott Jones thinks anti-LGBT, anti-choice crusader Mike Pence is ‘middle of the road,’ then Jones’ judgement is way off yet again,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC.
