Time for Tom MacArthur to Reject Garrett’s Pro-Discrimination Views, Donate His Cash

It’s been an uncomfortable dance for One-Term Wonder Congressman Tom MacArthur as his fellow New Jersey Republican and backer Scott Garrett, has come under national scrutiny for his record of extreme, pro-discrimination views.

MacArthur reportedly initially refused to comment on Garrett yesterday, and then tried to distance himself without explicitly denouncing Garrett.

“I don’t wish anybody ill and I support my party as a big tent party,” MacArthur said. “We need to find the best candidates who are going to help our district and our country. That’s what we need to be focused on. And whether people agree or disagree on one question or another shouldn’t shut that down.”

However, if Congressman MacArthur truly rejects Scott Garrett’s hateful record – he ought to donate the $6,000 in campaign contributions he’s received from him.

“While Scott Garrett’s has taken his hateful record of supporting discrimination against LGBT Americans to a new low and embarrassed New Jersey, Congressman MacArthur has been content to keep his cash,” said DCCC spokesman Jeb Fain. “It’s time for Congressman MacArthur to denounce Garrett’s views for what they are – hate, and put his money where his mouth is by ridding himself of $6,000 from a politician who is most-famous for supporting discrimination.”
