Trump is set to reveal his immigration “plan” later this week, but tonight he’s hanging out with Fox News in vulnerable Republican Will Hurd’s state to talk about border security – aka his plan to build a massive border wall – which is highly unpopular in Texas’ 23rd Congressional District. Though Will Hurd claims to oppose the border wall, the Congressman still plans to support his Republican nominee who has made building a border wall the largest component of his immigration plan.
Trump’s candidacy has been nothing but attacks toward Hispanics, immigrants, women, military families, people with disabilities, and many others that are part of the Texas 23rd community. And despite all of this, he continues to put party over country and fails to stand up to Donald Trump.
“With less than 80 days until the election, the people of Texas’ 23rd Congressional District must know that Will Hurd refuses to stand up to Donald Trump, even when he comes to Texas and attacks Latinos and immigrants,” said Javier Gamboa of the DCCC. “It’s time for Will Hurd to stop dancing around this question and come clean with Texas voters on why he continues to put party over country, by planning to support a nominee who will build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.”
