Vulnerable Central Valley Republican David Valadao is heading home for a ten day recess tomorrow – just in time to join his party’s Presidential nominee, Donald Trump, for a rally in Fresno!
Valadao first said he would support the eventual nominee – even if it were Trump – then walked it back after admitting that doing so could hurt his reelection chances. Last week his spokesman said Valadao would be focusing on his record, which is particularly perplexing since Valadao virtually sank his own water bill this week with his flip-flop votes on the Maloney amendment.
So, will Valadao have a change of heart in time for Trump’s rally in Fresno? Or will he continue to run and hide from his party’s Presidential nominee? Unfortunately for Valadao, it doesn’t really matter.
“Trump campaigning in vulnerable Valadao’s backyard is a painful reminder that Valadao is on the Trump Ticket whether he likes it or not,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC.
