St. Louis Dispatch Opinion: “Does U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner have any thing to say about any of the important issues of our day? Anything at all?”
A local St. Louis resident is literally begging Ann Wagner to take a stand on, well, anything. The seven-term GOP Congresswoman has made it clear that “it is too much to expect… that she at least hold a town hall meeting,” and has remained silent on Donald Trump’s purging of the federal government, on-again, off-again tariffs, and more.
In case you missed it…
St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Opinion: Where Does Rep. Wagner Stand On This President’s Actions?
-
Trump, through Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has fired thousands of federal workers, including many in Wagner’s district, with no notice, often claiming without evidence that it is because of poor job performance. Several judges have so far blocked some of these firings. Does Wagner have any concerns about all this?
-
Musk and DOGE have forced their way into accessing all sorts of highly personal data on Americans that is supposed to be secure. Since Wagner has not said a word, shall we assume she is fine with this?
-
Perhaps the most publicized of Trump’s actions is his on-again, off-again effort to impose tariffs on any or all countries. The Constitution specifically grants the ability to levy tariffs to Congress. Is Wagner OK with Trump commandeering this critically-important power for himself?
