| The Republican primary in Montana’s First Congressional District is getting messy.
Within roughly 24 hours of Ryan Zinke announcing his retirement and trying to anoint a successor, two other candidates have come out of the woodwork to take on Zinke’s preferred candidate.
Zinke’s announcement came just three days before the Montana filing deadline, a failed attempt to clear the path for his hand-picked candidate.
Clearly, Zinke’s choice just isn’t strong enough.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Montana Republicans’ clown car primary is getting messier by the minute. No matter which far-right candidate limps across the finish line, they will own Republicans’ toxic, price-spiking agenda and won’t stand a chance in November.” |
