Disgraced Max Miller is losing the very Republican voters who put him in office. According to new reporting from
NBC News, GOP voters, including those who cast ballots for Miller and Donald Trump in 2024, are abandoning their congressman this year as the damning domestic abuse allegations against Miller consume his flailing re-election bid.
Katie Heinz, a 49-year-old Medina Republican who voted for Miller and Trump less than two years ago, put it plainly when asked by NBC if she’d vote for Miller again: “I don’t think I will.”
According to the report, “Heinz’s reasoning sidesteps the question of whether he harmed his family and concentrates instead on the sideshow created by the dispute — the kind of logic that could be fatal to Miller’s political career.”
And she isn’t alone. Rich Sweebe, a 75-year-old registered Republican from Strongsville, put it more bluntly: “It’s disgusting that he was elected the first time, and it’s disgusting that he’s continuing on.”
Even Republicans still weighing their vote are signaling the same instinct. Jaclyn Reznik, a three-time Trump voter, told NBC that she thinks “we really have to consider the character of the individual when we’re voting.”
With all three nonpartisan race raters recently shifting OH-07 in Democrats’ direction to ‘toss-up,’ “Miller has given Republican leaders an unexpected headache” as union ironworker Brian Poindexter is now seen “as an even bet to flip the district into Democratic hands.”

“Even the very Republicans who put Max Miller in office are telling reporters they’re done with him. Ohio voters are eager to elect union ironworker Brian Poindexter in November, a true fighter for working families who will give OH-07 the representation they deserve.”
