| Nonpartisan race rater Inside Elections just shifted Montana’s 1st Congressional District toward Democrats’ direction – just the latest sign that Montanans are souring on Republicans’ toxic, cost-spiking agenda.
Earlier this month, Republican Ryan Zinke announced that he would abandon Montanans and not seek re-election — a telltale sign that Republicans know they will lose this seat.
REMINDER: Former U.S. Senator Jon Tester won MT-01 in 2024, underscoring how competitive this district is – especially in a year when Republicans are down nearly five points in the generic ballot and Democrats are overperforming in recent elections by an average of roughly 16 points.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Ryan Zinke saw the writing on the wall: Montanans are fed up with Republicans’ extreme agenda and want new leadership in Washington. Voters know Republican policies like health care cuts and reckless tariffs are hiking their costs and destroying Montana’s economy, and they’re ready to push back by electing a commonsense, Montana-first leader to Congress.” |
