| Non-partisan race rater Cook Political Report shifted their prediction for Michigan’s 10th Congressional District in Christina Hines’ direction to “Toss Up” – the latest sign that Michiganders are ready to flip the district blue.
In part, Cook Political Report writes:
- Early polling shows Democratic prosecutor Christina Hines and Republican Army veteran Mike Bouchard are neck-and-neck.
- The 10th District has voted for Trump three times (he carried it by five points in 2016, one point in 2020, and seven points in 2024), but it was also carried by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson — now running for governor — by double-digits in 2022.
- That same cycle, despite being heavily outspent, Macomb County prosecutor Carl Marlinga came within 2,000 votes of beating GOP Rep. John James.
DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Christina Hines is a prosecutor who stands up to anyone to get results for working families like her own. Michiganders are fed up and need a fighter, not another politician like Mike Bouchard Junior who bends the knee to party bosses in Washington. Momentum is with Christina to flip this seat and bring the change that Michigan deserves to Congress.” |
