🚨 RATINGS CHANGE: Cook Political Report Shifts NY-21 in Democrats’ Direction

With two independent forecasters reaching the same conclusion in the span of one week, the message is clear: Anthony Constantino is in trouble. 

In part, Cook writes:

• Republicans’ nominee, businessman and professional boxer Anthony Constantino, is a uniquely polarizing figure with many enemies in the local Republican establishment. 
• Meanwhile, Democrats have a strong, well-funded nominee in dairy farmer Blake Gendebien. 
• And finally, the trade war with Canada has further damaged Trump’s image in a district that spans much of the northern border.
• Polling commissioned by Democrats over the past month shows Gendebien trailing by just a few points. 
• Both candidates are flush with cash and have spent the past few months hammering each other on the airwaves.

Democrats are on offense in a seat Donald Trump won by double digits, with polls from both campaigns showing Gendebien in striking distance of Constantino.
