| Today, Inside Elections shifted California’s 22nd Congressional District in Democrats’ direction — the latest sign that Central Valley families are tired of being left behind by David Valadao and Randy Villegas has all the momentum to beat him in November.
Inside Elections writes in part, “Valadao lost in President Trump’s first midterm, Democratic candidates received more votes in the all-party primary, and…strategists are encouraged by…Randy Villegas.”
The ratings change comes as Valadao has spent his time in Congress making life more expensive for California families: from rubber stamping the war in Iran, to championing Trump’s chaotic tariffs crushing Valley farmers, to casting the deciding vote to gut health care from nearly 70,000 of his own constituents.
REMINDER: The latest shift also comes as polling shows Villegas with a 4 point lead, and follows two race rating shifts in his favor.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“The writing is on the wall for David Valadao. As hardworking Central Valley families continue to get squeezed by rising costs, they know Valadao is to blame. Voters are ready to send a son of the Central Valley and dedicated fighter for working families – not billionaires – to Congress. That’s Randy Villegas.” |
