🚨NEW DATA🚨: María Elvira Salazar To Blame for 250,000 Floridians Having Lost Their Insurance So Far

Florida has the most people in the country who have already dropped ACA coverage

Salazar refused to extend ACA tax credits before they expired, causing drastic price hikes

More than 250,000 fewer Floridians – the most of any state in the country – signed up for Affordable Care Act coverage this year after María Elvira Salazar and her fellow Florida Republicans refused to extend crucial tax credits that lower premiums, new federal data shows.

When Salazar refused to stand up for her communities at the end of last year, she effectively forced her constituents to either pay double their previous insurance premiums or go without coverage.

Salazar’s ACA flip-flop came months after she voted for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history, which are expected to kick roughly 80,000 more Floridians off their health care and cost the state nearly $4 billion.

DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Salazar is doing what she does best – lying to her constituents for political expediency while working families suffer. Salazar didn’t care about skyrocketing health care costs when she let the ACA tax credits expire in December, and she doesn’t care now. Voters see right through Salazar’s lies and will hold her accountable in November.”
