| Breaking: Former navy helicopter pilot and mom of two Rebecca Bennett enters the general election ahead of career politician Tom Kean Jr. in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.
Polling released today shows that Bennett leads Kean Jr. in a head-to-head matchup by a 47% to 43% margin (+4).
The poll comes as Republicans are growing increasingly worried about losing the seat in November:
- The Morris County Republican Chair told POLITICO that Republicans are growing nervous: “Yeah, I am nervous. Of course I am. Because it’s a very unsettling situation.”
- Kean Jr.’s own GOP colleagues are slamming him over his lack of transparency, with one saying: “Where is he? No, seriously. It’s embarrassing.”
- Republicans were so desperate to stop Bennett from facing off against Kean Jr. that they lit $650K on fire. They failed miserably.
