🌊 Wave of Local and National Coverage Highlights Bob Harvie’s Rally with Leader Jeffries, Governor Shapiro as Harviementum Continues to Grow

Bucks County families are watching and reading wall–to–wall coverage of Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie’s rally with Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Governor Josh Shapiro as momentum continues to build behind his campaign to oust Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.

Speaking from a packed rally at Charles Boehm Middle School, Harvie made it crystal clear that he’s running to put Pennsylvania families first: “This seat doesn’t belong to Brian Fitzpatrick. This seat doesn’t belong to the Republican Party. This seat doesn’t belong to me. This seat belongs to you.”

ANCHOR: Shapiro was also on hand for a campaign rally in Yardley on Saturday evening held on behalf of Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie… House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries also delivered remarks. House Democrats are rallying support in highly contested swing districts in hopes of flipping seats in the November midterm elections.

WATCH ON C-SPAN:

GOVERNOR SHAPIRO: I want a member of Congress like Bob Harvie who’s going to fight to cut costs in Pennsylvania. I want a member of Congress who’s going to stand up for our fundamental freedoms every single day. And I want a member of Congress, where after he takes the oath of office, his first vote is to make Hakeem Jeffries the next Speaker of the House of Representatives in Washington. Bob Harvie is going to do that, ladies and gentlemen. We need Bob Harvie in Congress.

WATCH ON CNN:

JEFFRIES: We’re going to win the day, win the week, win the month, win the year, win the hearts and minds of the American people. And then on November 3rd, win back control of the House of Representatives.

Jeffries’ decision to campaign alongside Harvie in the final stretch underscores Democrats’ growing bullishness heading into next month’s midterms, when they aim to retake control of the House of Representatives and usher in a 2018-style “blue wave.” […]

Democratic operatives in the state insist Harvie is within striking distance of flipping the district, which spans all of Bucks County and a sliver of Montgomery County in the affluent Philadelphia suburbs.

A new internal poll conducted last week by Democratic pollsters Global Strategy Group found Harvie and Fitzpatrick tied, 46%-46%, among likely voters, with 8% still undecided.

The stakes were clear for Democrats at a Lower Makefield campaign rally Saturday, where Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries urged Bucks County party faithful to get voters to the polls for U.S. House candidate Bob Harvie… “We can pretty much win back the House in this state,” Jeffries said. Michelle Rumford, 57, a teacher from Levittown, came out with her mother, in part, to hear Harvie’s plans about costs. “Gas prices. Grocery prices. All prices have gone up,” she said […]

Harvie asked the crowd if their lives were better since Fitzpatrick got elected, “and when Donald Trump came down his gold escalator.“

“We’re going to win,” Bob Harvie, a former high school history teacher and current member of the Bucks County Board of Commissioners, told HuffPost on Thursday before a town hall. “What we’re hearing from people is they’re just tired of what’s happening in Washington. And Brian Fitzpatrick’s been there 10 years.” […]

“He votes along party lines as a Republican,” Magyar said, “and then when the vote doesn’t really matter, he’ll vote so he can say that he’s an independent.”

“I am going to fight against the corruption that’s in Washington. We need to overturn Citizens United. We need to ban partisan gerrymandering in this country. We need to ban members of Congress – and the executive, and the judiciary – from trading stocks when they sit in those seats. We need to return this government to who it’s supposed to belong to, which is you,” said Harvie.

“When I say I’m running for this seat, I think that offends Brian Fitzpatrick. It offends the Republicans because they think of it as his seat. They think it’s their seat. It is not their seat. This seat doesn’t belong to Brian Fitzpatrick. This seat doesn’t belong to the Republican Party. This seat doesn’t belong to me. This seat belongs to you.” […]

“I’ve spent 8 years working alongside Brian Fitzpatrick in Congress. He is no moderate,” said Dean. “He is complicit in the grotesque chaos, corruption, and cruelty of this administration. It is time.”

During the rally in Bucks County, a perennial swing county that supported Mr. Trump by a razor-thin margin in 2024 after years of narrow Democratic victories, Harvie said: “It is not an accident that Hakeem Jeffries is here tonight.”

“He knows what we’re going to do with this district. He knows the potential,” he said.
