INQUIRER: “Brooks’ work ethic and career as a firefighter demonstrates he will show up for the people in the Lehigh Valley”
The Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial Board today officially endorsed firefighter Bob Brooks as momentum builds behind his campaign to unseat vulnerable Republican Ryan Mackenzie and flip Pennsylvania’s 7th District.
The Editorial Board says that Bob “knows firsthand the kitchen table issues many working families face” because he “has been working since he was a kid.”
They call him “measured, authentic, and relatable.”
They add that his “story of hard work and life challenges” will “serve him well in Congress,” and that his “work ethic and career as a firefighter demonstrates he will show up for the people in the Lehigh Valley.”
And they offer a rebuke of “Trump apparatchik” Ryan Mackenzie, who “has supported all of the Trump policies that have combined to make life unaffordable for many Americans” (while also noting he “has been accused of embellishing his resumé and lying about his age on Tinder”).
