🚨 BREAKING: Jim Desmond Joins NRCC’s Unpopular “MAGA Majority” in CA-48 🚨

In response to news that Jim Desmond was added to the NRCC’s “MAGA Majority,” DCCC spokesperson Anna Elsasser released the following statement:

“The NRCC agrees Jim Desmond is a MAGA extremist – full stop. After posing as a ‘common sense’ moderate, Desmond wasted no time flipping to embrace Donald Trump and Republicans’ MAGA agenda. It’s all the proof voters need: Desmond will say anything to get elected – then fall in line with his party bosses to raise costs, push reckless tariffs, and gut health care for working families. Desmond isn’t running to stand up for Southern California – he’s running to be a rubberstamp for the most extreme voices in his party.”

REMINDER: Jim Desmond’s carefully crafted “moderate” image collapsed immediately. The moment Donald Trump and the MAGA Republican caucus offered their “complete and total endorsement,” Desmond didn’t hesitate to fully embrace it.

And he’s been proving it ever since:

  1. When given the chance to protect Southern Californians from the impact of the GOP’s Big, Ugly Bill, Desmond voted against using county reserve funds to stop service cuts and voted against a plan to respond to federal cuts to Medi-Cal and CalFresh – dismissing the impact of his constituents having less food on their tables.
  2. Desmond refused to “[shy] away from his support for Trump” and endorsed “Trump’s more controversial efforts — including ending birthright citizenship.”
  3. As gas prices in California skyrocket to nearly $6 per gallon, Jim Desmond dismissed the financial burden on working families, calling it “no pain, no gain,” and saying “President Trump is right.”
  4. Desmond voted against his own housing proposal to avoid acknowledging that Trump’s tariffs and economic agenda are crushing Southern California families.
  5. As the president escalates his costly war in Iran – now draining $1 billion a day from American taxpayers – Desmond admitted “I support” it.
  6. Desmond then tried to wave away rising gas prices altogether, saying they’ll just “go away once…this Iran issue, you know, goes away,” yet acknowledged it’s “bloody murder when the president’s actions…[cause] the gas prices to go up.”
