The nonpartisan Cook Political Report shifted SEVEN battleground seats in Democrats’ direction.
Each of these seats were won by Trump in 2024, but have moved decisively in Democrats’ favor due to voters souring on Republicans’ broken promises and the strength of Democratic recruits in these now-competitive districts.Â
As Cook Political Report notes, “Democrats remain in a strong position to regain control of the House, with the battlefield continuing to shift in their favor as the political environment further deteriorates for the GOP. Districts that once appeared to be relatively safe for Republicans look increasingly competitive. Incumbents like Reps. Bill Huizenga and Chuck Edwards — neither of whom are on the NRCC’s list of vulnerable incumbents — will have expensive, hard-fought races this year.”
DCCC Communications Director Courtney Rice:Â
“GOP extremists in deep Trump territory continue to lose ground as Democrats, Independents and Republicans turn against the failed policies of Republican-led Washington. The DCCC is on offense with an expansive battlefield, and we are poised to take back the House and deliver real results for the American people.” |
