A new investigation by the Nevada Current exposes that Buck “scrubbed” her social media accounts in recent months, deleting posts in which she cheered reckless tariffs and Republican health care cuts – and even “equated abortion with Hitler’s attempted genocide of Jews and others.”

REMINDER: Buck was ranked the third most extreme member of the Nevada State Legislature in 2025, according to independent analysis.

Nevada Current: Buck attempts to erase social media record

• [Republican Carrie Buck] appears to be distancing herself from President Donald Trump’s agenda. 
• In recent months, Buck has scrubbed social media posts in which she exalted tariffs and the One Big Beautiful Bill, and compared women who have abortions to Adolf Hitler.
• The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) is projected by state officials to eliminate Medicaid coverage for roughly 70,000 to 100,000 Nevadans. Last year, the Joint Economic Committee Minority estimated just under 30,000 Nevadans in Congressional District 1, which Buck hopes to represent, could lose their health care coverage.
• Hospitals in CD1 are projected to lose just under $13 million, according to Third Way, a national think tank that advocates for moderate policies.
• Trump’s bill also put $328 million in clean energy investments and more than 7,200 jobs in the state at risk.
• Buck’s post hailing the OBBBA is no longer available. 
• Buck also deleted a social media post endorsing Trump’s tariffs, which have raised prices for consumers and kept would-be tourists from traveling.
• “I am gravely concerned that our tourism workers will face layoffs from the Trump tariffs,” Rep. Dina Titus, the Democrat incumbent Buck hopes to defeat, said at the time.  
• The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reports visitation to Southern Nevada was down 7.5% last year, the first of Trump’s second term. It has yet to recover and remains essentially flat year-over-year. 
• By May of this year, Buck’s post from March 2025 praising tariffs was no longer available. 
• A third post deleted by Buck equated abortion with Hitler’s attempted genocide of Jews and others. 
• In the spring of 2023, explaining her vote against what would become the Question 6 ballot initiative, Buck posted on Facebook that abortion is akin to “ripping a baby limb from limb out of his/her mother,” and added “I think Hitler did that in his reign.” She urged Nevadans to vote against an amendment that would add the right to an abortion to the Nevada Constitution.
• The ballot measure, a backlash against Trump’s first term litmus test for Supreme Court nominees, passed with 64% of the vote and must be approved again in November to amend the Constitution. 
• By May of this year, Buck had deleted the post.
