The Big, Ugly Bill continues to prove how unpopular it is. The latest blow comes from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which shows 16 million Americans would get kicked off their health insurance to fund tax breaks for billionaires.
According to the CBO, 16 million people would lose their health insurance from House Republicans’ historic cut to Medicaid and refusing to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits. The GOP Tax Scam would also raise monthly health care costs on 24 million Americans.
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“The phony moderates continue to lie about their Big, Ugly Bill — but numbers don’t lie. The vulnerable House Republicans are now all on record voting to enact the largest cut to health care in American history to give tax breaks to billionaires like their ex-cheerleader Elon Musk.”
New battleground research from the DCCC and DSCC shows the Republican scheme to gut Medicaid is a persuasive argument with voters in swing districts – especially as Republicans abandon their promise to lower the cost of living. |
