🚨 RATINGS CHANGE: Cook Political Report Shifts AZ-02 Towards Democrats as Jonathan Nez Builds Momentum

Non-partisan race-rater Cook Political Report just shifted their prediction for Arizona’s Second District in Democrats’ direction — the latest sign that Jonathan Nez has the momentum to send Eli Crane packing.

Cook writes in part:

  • In his 2024 campaign against GOP Rep. Eli Crane, former Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez campaigned heavily on protecting water access for the sprawling 2nd District. That issue, and access to health care in rural Arizona, have become even more salient this cycle.
  • And this year, Crane doesn’t have the tailwinds that boosted him in 2024, when Donald Trump carried the district by 15 points.
  • Recent polling conducted by Emerson shows GOP gubernatorial candidate Andy Biggs only narrowly carrying the seat — and Nez with a two-point lead over Crane.
  • House Majority PAC, meanwhile, is hitting Crane for voting against releasing the Epstein files.

The ratings change comes as hardworking Arizona families grow sick and tired of Eli Crane’s reckless agenda of jacking up costs and gutting health care.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Arizona families can’t afford another two years of Eli Crane bending the knee to his D.C party bosses. Arizonans know that Jonathan Nez is a dedicated, independent leader with a proven track record of putting people over politics, and that’s why they’ll send him to Congress in November.”
