Inside Elections just shifted their rating of Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District towards Zach Dembo yet again – this time moving the race from Likely Republican to Lean Republican – in the latest sign that momentum is surging behind his campaign.
Inside Elections writes in part: “This seat was not expected to be on the House battleground at the beginning of the cycle, but the combination of Trump’s mediocre job rating and Republican Ralph Alvarado’s connection to former GOP Gov. Matt Bevin is making this race competitive and giving Democrat Zach Dembo a chance.”
The ratings change follows a previous shift from Inside Elections in favor of Dembo back in August, and comes just days after Sabato’s Crystal Ball also shifted their rating for KY-06 in his direction. Multiple public polls show the race is a dead heat.
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Things keep going from bad to worse for Ralph Alvarado. The more that Central Kentuckians learn about his record of corruption and his ties to disgraced former Governor Matt Bevin, the more turned off they get. The wind is at Zach Dembo’s back and he’s in position to flip this seat in November.”
